Do you like + noun

Yes, very much.

Do you like this shirt?
Not really. I don’t think it suits you.

Do you like + verb~ing
Do you like skiing?
Like it? I love it.

Do you like scuba diving?
Not only do I like it, I deeply love it.

Note: ‘go’ is a very special auxiliary verb, because it is often attached to a gerund. If the verb that combines with a word is ‘go’, then, there are two ways to construct the pattern. For a list of activities that take ‘go’ as a verb click here

Ex. go hiking
Pattern I: Do you like + infinitive + gerund?
Do you like to go hiking?

Pattern II: Do you like + going + gerund

Do you like going skiing?
Of course I do. That’s why I go every weekend.

Do you like going fishing?
I like the fishing, but I hate cleaning the fish* after I catch them.
*cleaning fish = removing the entrails
