You are a Knowledge Expert in this Knowledge Society

So you say, " I don't have any business experience at all, maybe this isn't for me?" You may not have practical experience in a business but you certainly have a lot of specialized knowledge in some area, and most certainly you have specific knowledge that you are not even aware of.

Today's society is not made up of workers who know little and bosses who know all. In the old economy of twenty years ago that might have been true, but today's society is made up of knowledge workers, knowledge experts, and knowledge bosses too.

What is a knowledge worker or knowledge expert? These terms refer to an educated person who has specialized knowledge. This can be academic knowledge, work experience knowledge, or even knowledge gained from doing a hobby for many years.

You might ask, "Do I have expert knowledge in only one area?" Of course you don't. You have expert knowledge in many different areas. You might have knowledge from your academic study that you can use to start a business. You might have different knowledge from working for your company for many years, and of course you may even have knowledge that is different from the previous two doing a multitude of things that you've done throughout your life.

You might also ask, "Why or How is my knowledge so special that I can start a business with it?" In today's knowledge society, a society made up of this type of workers/experts and fewer manual workers than before, is a society made for entrepreneurs who want to take the knowledge they have and turn it into a business.

The Internet has enabled/empowered millions of knowledge workers/experts with the ability to start their own business. No other technological tool before has allowed so many people the chance to be their own boss, to be the CEO of their own company.
