Take off eh! - You hoser... Take off, eh! Anybody who has spent any length of time in Canada will have noticed how often Canadians say ‘eh’! It sounds the same as the letter ‘A’, as in gray, day, adn pay.. If you are familiar with “Huh” in American English, using ‘eh’ will be easy to learn as it is used similarly. ‘eh’ is used in two ways 1) ‘eh’ is used as a tag question, where the speaker already knows the answer. In a way, it is a way of making conversation. 2) ‘eh’ can also be used to mean “Pardon?” or “I don’t quite understand”. Bob: “Could you pass me the tetracycline.”
